In this manual we will teach you how to install Owncloud in a Hosting service within your Cloud. First of all, you must have a hosting service created. To see how to create a hosting service in your cloud, we recommend the following manual "Create a web hosting in my Cloud".
Once you have a hosting service created, proceed to find the name of the hosting from the SW Panel search engine and access its dashboard by clicking on it:
The next step will be to create a Database for your Owncloud within your hosting service. To see how to create the Database, we recommend you visit our manual Create MySQL or MariaDB database.
⚠️ Later, to make the final Owncloud configuration, you will need the name, username and password of the Database. We recommend writing them down in a nearby place. ⚠️
When you have the Database, proceed to download the installation package ".zip" from the official Owncloud website, which you can find at the following URL: https://owncloud.com/es/descarguese-el-servidor/
When you have the zip file downloaded, copy said file to your hosting service through the File Manager. You can access the File Manager through the blue dashboard menu, following the following path: "Management on the service -> File Manager".
Once inside the File Manager, open the initial directory and the data folder inside it, by clicking on the triangle next to each of the folders, as you can see in the following image:
To copy the zip file from your computer to the hosting service, you just have to drag the file from the Windows file explorer to the "web" folder of the SW Panel file manager:
The next step will be to decompress the file copied from the SW Panel File Manager. You will do this by clicking on the ellipsis to the right of the file, a pop-up menu will open and you must click on the option "Unzip file".
Once the file is unzipped, a new folder will appear with all the Owncloud files inside and you can delete the zip file to free up some space on your machine. To delete it, you just have to click on the ellipsis to the right of the file and select the option "Delete this file". It will ask if you are sure to delete the file and you should click on "Yes, delet".
Next, you must indicate to your hosting system that the root directory for your Owncloud service will be the folder generated when unzipping instead of the "web" folder that is configured by default. To modify the root directory, click on the blue menu of the SW Panel following the following path: "Management about the service -> Manage Web root directory"
When you are inside Web root directory management of your hosting, select the "owncloud" folder, indicate the security word and click on "Assign directory".
It will only be left to do the Final configuration of Owncloud through a web browser. To do this, open a web browser, indicate the name of your hosting in the address bar and an Owncloud screen will appear, as shown in the following image:
Owncloud will ask you for the following information:
⚠️ It is very important to write down the credentials of the Owncloud administrator account, they are the ones that will allow you to login and will have the maximum level of privileges within the software. ⚠️
Once all the data has been entered, click on the "Complete the installation" button and, after a few seconds, the current screen will be changed to the login screen, where you will enter the administrator passwords.
If you enter the credentials of the administrator user and press the arrow next to the password, you will enter Owncloud, it will show you a welcome window and you will be inside its folder structure, where you can manage all users, create new folders, etc.
Clever! You already have Owncloud in a hosting of your Cloud.
