As we mentioned in the previous manual Change domain contact, modifying the holder / owner of a .es domain is a little different from the other domains, since it cannot be changed from SW Panel because it requires a special procedure with NIC.es. In the following manual we will explain step by step how to modify the owner of a .es domain.
The changes of ownership of .es domains are carried out from the option "Request Domain Transfer" that you will find after accessing Nic.es with your Nic-Handle and password.
If you have not previously registered at Dominios.es, you must click on "https://www.nic.es/sgnd/contacto/publicAltaContactoInicializar.action" and register your domain.
In the "Domain Transfer Request" section, you will be able to indicate the domain, the owner and the new administrative contact person. If the new owner does not have a Nic-Handle, you will have to create a Nic-Handle for the new contact.
In the next step you will have to sign the application using the DNIe or attaching a photocopy of the DNI that you can upload directly. The image must not exceed 600px in width, if it gives you problems when attaching it try to reduce its size until it is accepted.
Nic.es will ask the current owner or the administrative contact for acceptance by sending an email to both contacts. Once this is done, the change of ownership request will be carried out, which Nic.es will review and if everything is correct will accept it.
The acceptance period can take up to 10 days to be completed. If it has not been accepted within 10 days, the application will be automatically cancelled.
