DNS Templates

What is a DNS Template?

A DNS Template allows us to predefine the DNS configuration in a personalized way, thus avoiding having to configure the same parameters every time we proceed to register a new service.

We can use it when creating a new service from a Service Template, leaving the DNS service directly configured with the template data.

Likewise, we can mark a DNS Template as default template for new services, applying to the services created from that moment.

How to create a DNS Template?

  1. In SW Panel, press the option Templates (left menu) > DNS Templates.

  2. Click on the Create DNS Template button.

  3. Enter the name you want to assign to the template.

    Selectable options:

  • [x] Do not Inherit the DNS template. The template will not be visible to users who are dependent on the current user (sub-users).
  • [x] Mark as template by default of SW Panel. The DNS configuration of this template will be applied to the new services that are created from now on.
  1. Click on Create DNS template, and then access again DNS Templates (Templates (left menu) > DNS Templates).

  2. The template we just created appears in the list. Access the menu Manage (located on the right) > Modify the template.

  3. Click Create Registry, select the Type of record and fill in the data. Finally, click Create Register so that the data is saved.

  4. We choose the type of record we want to create:
